Course Entry/Admission Requirements for PhD in Agricultural and BioResources Engineering at Federal University of Technology - Minna General Admission Requirements A candidate applying for Postgraduate Studies in the Federal University of Technology, Minna must have obtained five (5) Credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE (‘O’ Level) or their equivalents including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings. No admission shall be made on the basis of any awaiting ‘O’ Level result and no exemption is made for admission into any programme. i. Candidates for admission for any of PhD Programme shall be Master Degree graduates of the Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other University recognized by the Senate or holders of equivalent qualifications acceptable to the University Senate. ii. A Master Degree holder applying for PhD Programme of the University must have maintained a weighted score average of 60% or a ‘B’ grade or a CGPA of 3.50 out of 5.00 in overall performance in the Master Degree programme. iii. Appropriate courses may be prescribed for candidates whose background is considered weak for the areas of specialization. This is done at the discretion of the School/Department within the approved general regulations/guidelines of the Postgraduate School. Additional Qualifications: i. O level/SSCE qualification, 5 credits at GCE ‘O’ level or SSCE which must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and Biology or Agricultural Science at not more than two sittings for all programmes. ii. NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption letter from NYSC Headquarters for all programmes. iii. A minimum of Upper Credit at HND Level or Third Class Degree from FUT, Minna or any recognized Institution with three years’ post-graduation experience in relevant field for candidates applying for Masters Degree Programme. iv. A minimum of Second Class Lower or PGD with a minimum of Upper Credit from FUT Minna or any recognized institution for candidate applying for Masters Degree Programme. v. CGPA of 3.5 or overall grade of ‘B’ or 60% weighted average at Masters Degree programme from FUT, Minna or any recognized Institution for candidates apply for PhD Programme.
